On 10 July 2025, MICCI has the pleasure of hosting a courtesy call from the Agensi Kaunseling & Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), led by Mr. Mohammad Faizal, Head of Department, SME Debt Management. The delegation comprised representatives from three key departments: SME Debt Management, Business Development and Marketing, and SME Financial Education. The visit served as an engaging platform for AKPK to share updates on its initiatives to assist financially distressed SMEs and promote financial literacy in line with its mandate from Bank Negara Malaysia.

AKPK highlighted the Small Debt Resolution Scheme (SDRS), a free facility that enables SMEs to restructure their debts with participating financial institutions. The scheme has recorded an approval rate of over 90%, with 76% of assisted SMEs successfully revitalising their businesses, reaffirming its effectiveness in supporting business continuity and recovery.

The session also introduced POWER! AKPK, a flagship financial education programme, along with the MyBijakKewangan portal, a comprehensive digital platform offering accessible financial tools, learning modules, and resources tailored for both individuals and businesses. These initiatives reflect AKPK’s broader mission to build financial resilience and empower economic participation.

MICCI will continue to support AKPK’s outreach by promoting these programs and tools to its members and the wider business community, ensuring greater visibility and access to financial guidance.
