MICCI Central Monthly Get-Together: October Session

On 15 October 2025, the MICCI Central Branch organized its Monthly Get-Together – International Trade & Culture Day, held in conjunction with the Malaysia Consumer Expo 2025.

The event began with opening remarks by Mr. Wayne Shu, MICCI Central Branch Manager, who delivered an insightful address to set the tone for the subsequent sessions of the Trade and Culture Day, attended by representatives from various embassies and consulates.

The Monthly Get-Together was also attended by Mr. Lim Chong Ling, Deputy Chairman; Mr. Shaun Edward Cheah, Vice-Chair 2; Mr. Raja Kumaran; Ms. Amila Kamaruddin; members of the MICCI Central Branch EXCO; and MICCI members, who took the opportunity to network with industry representatives.

In the afternoon, the Opening Ceremony of the Malaysia Consumer Expo 2025 was graced by YB Lee Hui Ying, Deputy Finance Minister of Malaysia, and attended by officials from MATRADE, MIDA, and other government agencies. The welcoming remarks were delivered by Mr. Kim Tan, President of the Guangdong Malaysia Import and Export Chamber of Commerce. Dato’ Andy Choong Kar Foo, Chairman of the MICCI Central Branch, also attended the event, as MICCI was a supporting partner of the Expo.

The exhibition featured companies from across Southeast Asia, reflecting the ASEAN Summit spirit hosted in Malaysia. MICCI Central also set up a booth, manned by Ms. Lynette Thomas and Mr. Muhammad Faris, to promote the Chamber’s values and initiatives to visitors. The three-day exhibition attracted participants from various industries and countries, making it a highly engaging and fruitful event.
