The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) paid a courtesy visit to the new office of the Japanese Chamber of Trade and Industry, Malaysia (JACTIM), which was officially relocated in May 2025.

The MICCI delegation was led by President 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗲, joined by Genco Member 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗲, Executive Director 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴, and Assistant General Manager 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗻.

JACTIM was represented by President 𝗠𝗿. 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀𝘂 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗮, Chief Coordination Officer 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗮𝘇𝘂𝘆𝗮 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗲, and Secretary General 𝗠𝗿. 𝗬𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝗞𝗼𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗮.

During the session, JACTIM shared key insights on:

• Its history and longstanding contributions to Malaysia since 1983

• The role of Japanese companies in driving trade and investment since 1965

• Current economic sentiment and outlook for 2025

• Key operational challenges faced by member companies

• Opportunities for collaboration with MICCI in areas such as supply chain synergy, business matching, trading groups, and joint networking platforms between member companies.

Both chambers also explored the possibility of formalizing cooperation through a future 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗼𝗨) to enhance mutual support and joint initiatives.

The visit served as a meaningful platform to strengthen bilateral ties and foster deeper collaboration between the Malaysian and Japanese business communities.
