MITI Focus Group Meeting to Formulate Action Plan for Pandemic Management (Economy & Industry)

: Nov 2, 2020MICCI spent last week with MITI to craft the Pandemic Strategic Action Plan.
The government heard our gripes about the National Security Council’s haphazard announcements and how it appears that they “make it up as they go along the way”.
They have set up a Taskforce to codify an Alert System learning from the colour coding of Singapore’s DORSCON and Ireland’s system with the determination of which sectors not allowed to operate at which level, the communications plan, the public sector’s coordination and alignment of actions.
So, we’ll be expecting some certainty in what are the operating conditions depending on the alert levels as to better prepare our businesses to address. It allows businesses to better plan ahead.
In a nutshell, it’s like a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) or Crisis Management plan that large MNCs practice.
No more unclear confusion, once an event is triggered, the rest is SOPs and defined escalation process.
