Webinar on ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) 2nd Edition & Applicable Laws

The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), in collaboration with the Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Centre of Excellence, successfully hosted a webinar on 15th October 2025 titled “ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) 2nd Edition & Applicable Laws [Companies Act 2024 / Government Procurement Act 2025 / Whistleblowers Protection Act 2010 (Amendments 2025)]. The programme was divided into two sessions, each focusing on different but complementary areas of governance and accountability.

The first session, presented by Mr. Fathan Jamil, Senior Lead Auditor & Training Specialist, provided an in-depth overview of the ISO 37001:2025 Anti-Bribery Management System 2nd Edition. He elaborated on the importance of leadership commitment, bribery risk assessment, internal financial and non-financial controls, and continual monitoring to establish adequate procedures in alignment with Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009.

The second session, delivered by Ms. Cynthia Gabriel, focused on key legal developments affecting businesses, including Beneficial Ownership requirements under the Companies Act 2024, procurement reforms under the Government Procurement Act 2025, and strengthened whistleblower protections under the Whistleblowers Protection Act 2010 (Amendments 2025). She also highlighted the role of whistleblowing mechanisms in supporting ISO 37001 compliance and mitigating corporate liability risks.

This webinar provided participants with valuable insights into strengthening compliance structures, promoting transparency and reinforcing integrity-driven business practices. MICCI extends appreciation to both speakers and all attendees for their active engagement.
