Courtesy Visit by the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and ASEAN to MICCI

The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) was honoured to host His Excellency Dr. Raman Ramanouski, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and ASEAN and Mr. Ivan Senchanka, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Indonesia, on 9th October 2025 at the MICCI Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. Representing MICCI were Mr. Martin Ang, General Committee Member, Mr. Lee Han Ling, Executive Director, and Mr. Leslie Tan, Deputy General Manager.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for trade and investment between Malaysia and Belarus. H.E. Dr. Raman provided insights into Belarus’s strong industrial and agricultural sectors, highlighting its production of heavy machinery, potash fertilisers, dairy products, and advanced manufacturing capabilities. He expressed Belarus’s interest in importing Malaysian palm oil, tropical fruits, seafood, and technology-based products.

Discussions also covered potential cooperation under the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) framework, connectivity through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and the development of Halal certification recognition to facilitate food exports to Muslim markets. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening business linkages and proposed future collaborations, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MICCI and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), and the possibility of a Belarus–Malaysia Business Forum in 2026.

MICCI looks forward to advancing trade and economic cooperation between Malaysia and Belarus.
