Forging Strategic Paths: Highlights from the MITI & MIDA Perak Members’ Get-Together

On 10 February, MICCI Perak members convened for a strategic briefing session with leaders from MITI Perak and MIDA Perak. The session delivered key regulatory updates and forward-looking insights to help businesses navigate evolving global trade requirements and domestic investment frameworks in 2026. 

The programme began with a networking lunch, followed by tokens of appreciation presented to our distinguished speakers and to our collaboration partner, PKNPk, for sponsoring the refreshments. The gathering provided a platform for meaningful engagement ahead of three high-impact presentations: 

1) NPCO Applications to the USA – Puan Malini Balasubramaniam (Director, MITI Perak) 

  A detailed briefing on the Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin (NPCO) and best practices for exports to the United States. 

2) ASEAN Wide Self-Certification (AWSC) – Cik Nazratul Ikma Mohamad Azhar (Executive Officer MySTEP, MITI Perak) 

  Guidance on self-certifying goods within ASEAN to simplify trade processes and reduce administrative hurdles. 

3) Investor Empowerment: Government Facilitation Framework – Encik Dyrul Syahrytz (Director, MIDA Perak) 

  Updates on MIDA’s Seamless Support System and the New Incentive Framework (NIF), highlighting new opportunities for business growth.
