MICCI Southern Region successfully hosted its Monthly Get-Together on 16 July 2026 at United Overseas Bank (UOB), Nusa Bestari Branch, featuring the special programme, “Harnessing Malaysia’s AI Landscape for Business Growth.” Organised in collaboration with UOB and UOB FinLab, the event brought together members and business leaders to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in driving business transformation.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Lim Fang Chii, Branch Manager of UOB Nusa Bestari Branch, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, Chairman of MICCI Southern Region. Both speakers highlighted the importance of embracing digital innovation to enhance business competitiveness.

The keynote presentation by Ms. Mydiana Madzlan, Senior Manager of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) provided participants with valuable insights into Malaysia’s AI ecosystem, government initiatives, and opportunities for businesses to leverage AI for sustainable growth. This was followed by Mr. William Heng, Head of UOB FinLab who shared how UOB FinLab supports businesses in their innovation and digital transformation journeys through its various programmes and services. The programme concluded with a presentation by Ts. Mohd Hairulnizam, Associate Partner/Service Director and Ms. Najwa Athirah, Senior Project Engineer of Cloud Consulting, who showcased practical AI solutions designed to help businesses accelerate AI adoption.

The evening ended with a networking session over refreshments, allowing participants to exchange ideas, strengthen business connections, and explore future collaborations.
