On 19th August 2021 at 2:30pm, the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) together with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) live streamed our virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony.

The signatories present were Ms. Christina Tee, National Vice President and Southern Branch Chairperson of MICCI; and YBhg. Professor Sr Dr. Hishamuddin Mohd Ali, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) of UTM Johor Bahru.

The official witnesses present were YBhg. Tuan Hj Md Salikon Bin Hj Sarpin, National General Committee Member and Southern Branch Committee Member of MICCI; and YBhg. Professor Dr. Mohd Shafry Mohd Rahim, Chair, Institute For Life-Ready (UTM iLeague) of UTM Johor Bahru.

The ceremony was hosted by MICCI Executive Director Mr. Shaun Cheah who introduced the Nexgen Programme which aims to aid fresh graduates as they move into the workforce. This collaboration between the two organisations aims to make UTM graduates more employable by connecting them to MICCIs established business network.

Among those in attendance were MICCI board members as well as professors and staff from UTM.

It was a very insightful session that highlighted perspectives from industry leaders as to what companies need and what is currently lacking among graduates. In addition, we also heard from Professor Dr. Intan Z. Mat Darus on how UTM is revamping themselves to better equip their students for the future.

MICCI is excited to launch the Nexgen Programme with UTM and open up doors for future industry leaders.
