POIC SABAH SDN BHD
Description
"POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd is wholly owned by the Sabah State Government. The company was set up in January 2005 to develop POIC Lahad Datu as Malaysia's first dedicated palm oil logistics hub - making it the most important palm oil industrial export port in the region. POIC Lahad Datu is located near the township of Lahad Datu in southeastern Sabah. It is at the centre of the state’s 1.3 million hectares of oil palm plantations. The first 2 phases covering 1,150 acres focus on major palm oil industries such as refineries, fertilizer plants, oleochemicals, biomass, and critical support industries such as central steam provider, bulking installations and dedicated jetties. In the next phase covering about 3,300 acres, POIC Lahad Datu will diversify into a broader based cluster encompassing energy intensive sectors, cocoa, ship repairs and construction, food, marine, furniture and machinery sectors. A halal hub is also targeted to capture the sizeable global halal market. POIC Lahad Datu provides an attractive setting for investment opportunities due to its strategic location, investment incentives, infrastructure and favourable living environment."
