2nd Johor – Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Joint Investment Forum

The 2nd Johor – Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Joint Investment Forum was successfully held on 14 October 2025 at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre Singapore, attracting over 900 business leaders, investors, and policymakers from both Malaysia and Singapore.

The forum was graced by YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry; and Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore.

Discussions focused on supply chain integration, green economy, manufacturing, and digital economy, highlighting opportunities for greater cross-border collaboration under the JS-SEZ framework.

A key outcome of the forum was the announcement of over SGD 5.5 billion in investment commitments by Singapore-based firms into Johor. Both governments also unveiled initiatives to ease business operations and strengthen talent development through the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre –Johor (IMFC-J), the Singapore Joint JS-FEZ Project and Johor Talent Development Centre (JTDC).

The invitation to the forum was extended to MICCI by Enterprise Singapore. The MICCI Southern Branch was represented by Mr. Chong Ying Haan, Southern Branch Secretary, and Ms. Olivia Chin, Southern Branch Manager.

The event reaffirmed the strong economic partnership between Johor and Singapore in driving sustainable and inclusive regional growth.
