On 21 January 2025, MICCI Northern hosted an exclusive business lunch with YB Zairil Khir Johari, Penang State EXCO for Infrastructure, Transport, and Digital Economy. Held at the elegant The Skye @ The Granite Luxury Hotel, the session provided a unique platform for distinguished guests and industry leaders to gain first-hand insights into key infrastructure and economic developments shaping Penang’s future and landscape.

The luncheon fostered open dialogue, allowing attendees to engage directly with YB Zairil on pressing transportation matters. A key highlight was his overview of major infrastructure projects, including Penang’s Transport Master Plan, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, and the Penang Silicon Island initiative. This was followed by an in-depth presentation by Dato’ Seri Farizan, CEO of Penang Infrastructure Corporation Sdn. Bhd., who provided further insights into the region’s strategic developments on how the State plans to move people.
