On 8th January 2025, MICCI President, Ms. Christina Tee, had the honour of hosting a courtesy visit by the Undersecretary Industry Development and Investment Promotions Group (IPG) of the Department of Trade and Industry, Republic of the Philippines, Mr. Cerefino S. Rodolfo. The visit was held to strengthen bilateral relations and explore potential areas of collaboration between Malaysia and the Philippines, focusing on key industries and sectors offering opportunities for growth and innovation.

The discussions focused on several important topics, including ways to build stronger business partnerships and address challenges both nations face in various sectors. One of the key points was how to align workforce needs and overcome regulatory hurdles that may arise as businesses in both countries grow. The conversation also delved into exploring new and innovative ways to ensure sustainable growth, with a focus on the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, renewable energy, and manufacturing industries. There was a lot of excitement about the potential for Malaysia and the Philippines to collaborate in areas like BPO and high-end services, as well as the relocation of supply chains to benefit both nations.
