Malaysia’s Talent Landscape: Strategies for Workforce Mobility and Inclusion

 
The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), in collaboration with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), successfully hosted an industry engagement session titled “Malaysia’s Talent Landscape: Strategies for Workforce Mobility and Inclusion” on 26th June 2025, at WORQ Intermark, Kuala Lumpur.

The session began with opening remarks by Mr. Lee Han Ling, Executive Director of MICCI, who welcomed participants and highlighted MICCI’s long-standing role in supporting business growth, while emphasising the importance of public-private collaboration in addressing Malaysia’s evolving talent needs, from expatriate services to inclusive workforce policies.

This was followed by a series of presentations, beginning with an overview of TalentCorp’s current initiatives by Mr. Aidi Ahmad Ghazi from the Group Client Relationship Management (GCRM) team, who shared strategic efforts to enhance service delivery, support workforce planning, and align talent programmes with national priorities.

Mr. Azham Aizat from the MYXpats Centre, shared reccent updates on expatriate employment pass procedures, digital process enhancements, and coordination with regulatory authorities. This was followed by Mr. Mohd Shakirin, who provided insights into the Residence PassTalent (RP-T) programme, outlining eligibility criteria and how the RP-T supports Malaysia’s long-term goal of retaining high-skilled global professionals.

The session continued with a presentation on the Ilham KESUMA initiative by Mr. Simon Ang from the Graduate and Emerging Talent (GET) team. The segment introduced the 1:3 Internship Policy, the MySIP incentive, and the MyNext platform, all geared towards strengthening graduate employability and structured internship implementation.

The session concluded with Mr. David Tham, who shared best practices under TalentCorp’s LIFE AT WORK initiative, focusing on Flexible Working Arrangements (FWA), including hybrid work models, flexible hours, and family-friendly policies embraced by leading employers.
