MICCI SOUTHERN ENGAGE WITH CANADIAN DELEGATES

On Monday, 15 June 2026, the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce And Industry (MICCI) Southern Region hosted an engagement session with a Canadian delegation at the office of our Chairman, Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, at Lee & Tengku Azrina, Level 29, Menara Landmark. The visit served as a valuable platform to foster business connections and explore opportunities for collaboration between Malaysia and Canada.

The session commenced with welcome remarks by Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, who warmly welcomed the delegation and shared MICCI’s role in promoting trade, investment, and business networking. This was followed by special remarks from Mr. Eric Pelletier, Counsellor (Commercial) & Senior Trade Commissioner at the High Commission of Canada in Malaysia. Mr. Eric Pelletier highlighted Johor’s growing potential, particularly with the rapid development of data centres in the state. He noted that the increasing demand for water resources to support these developments presents significant opportunities in water and wastewater management and expressed keen interest in exploring partnerships in Johor.

The delegation comprised representatives from 13 Canadian companies specialising in water and wastewater treatment solutions, bringing valuable expertise and innovative technologies in sustainable water management.

A meaningful gift exchange ceremony between MICCI Southern Region’s Chairman, Mr. Lee Ting Kiat and Mr. Eric Pelletier, Counsellor (Commercial) & Senior Trade Commissioner, High Commission of Canada symbolized the spirit of friendship and cooperation between both parties.

The programme continued with presentations by the Canadian companies, followed by self-introductions by MICCI Southern Region’s EXCO and Council Members. The event concluded with an interactive B2B networking session, enabling participants to engage in meaningful discussions and strengthen business relationships.

The afternoon ended with a group photo commemorating a successful and fruitful engagement.
