MICCI Central Branch Courtesy Visit to the Director General of Fire & Rescue Department Malaysia

On 2 March 2026, the MICCI Central Branch paid a courtesy visit to the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia headquarters in Putrajaya and was received by the Director General, Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad. The MICCI delegation was led by Dr Lim Chong Ling, Deputy Chairman of MICCI Central Branch, accompanied by Dr Shaun Edward Cheah, ViceChair 2.  

The delegation included Dr Ricky Gauthaman, Group Managing Director of Ezra & Macquarie Sdn Bhd; Ms Fern Li Hui, Managing Partner of Ezra & Macquarie Sdn Bhd; Mr Shathiswaran Muthalagau, Engineering & Training Manager of Ezra & Macquarie Sdn Bhd; Mr Ong, Manager of One Ocean Environment Sdn Bhd; Ms Mariatul of Gamalux Sdn Bhd; and Mr Wayne Shu Guo Qui, Branch Manager of MICCI Central.  

During the engagement session, Ezra & Macquarie Sdn Bhd presented key industry concerns relating to fire risks associated with Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries, international practices and standards on fire suppression systems, as well as fire safety considerations for tunnels and critical infrastructure. The discussion also covered members’ experiences and challenges relating to BOMBA business premises applications, with constructive dialogue on enhancing regulatory clarity and industry compliance.  

The session reflects MICCI Central’s continued commitment to fostering strong public-private collaboration, strengthening industry safety standards, and supporting Malaysia’s evolving infrastructure and sustainability landscape.
