Navigating Malaysia’s Expatriate & Talent Policies: Key Insights for Businesses
The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), in collaboration with TalentCorp and MYXpats Centre, successfully co-organised the “Navigating Malaysia’s Expatriate & Talent Policies: Key Insights & MYXpats Centre Services” briefing on 30 July 2026 at The 1837 Lounge, MICCI. The hybrid session provided members and industry representatives with updates on Malaysia’s evolving expatriate and talent policies, while offering a platform to engage directly with the relevant agencies.
The session commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Dharmen Sivalingam, Chairman of the MICCI Human Capital & Education Council, who highlighted the importance of developing a future-ready workforce by strengthening local talent while ensuring businesses continue to have access to specialised global expertise. He also underscored the need for clear and practical policies to support businesses in navigating the changing talent landscape.
The briefing featured presentations by Mr. Luqman Fauzi, Mr. Mohd Shakirin Mohd Fauzi and Mr. Simon Ang Song Huang, who shared key updates on MYXpats Centre services, the Revised Expatriate Salary Policy, the Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) Programme, and the National Internship Ecosystem, including the implementation of the 1:3 Internship Policy. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, providing participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and seek clarification on the topics discussed.
