On 23rd July 2025, the MICCI Central Branch successfully hosted its Monthly Get-Together, featuring a highly relevant and thought-provoking session in collaboration with 𝗧𝗮𝘆 & 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀. The event focused on the topic “Navigating Malaysian Employment Law in the Johor-Singapore SEZ: Essential Insights for Employers.” The session was led by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗬𝗲𝗼𝗵, Head of Dispute Resolution, Employment and Industrial Relations at Tay & Partners. Opening remarks were delivered by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗶𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴, Deputy Chairman of MICCI Central Branch, while the session was organized by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝘂 𝗚𝘂𝗼 𝗤𝘂𝗶, Advocacy Manager.

This insightful session explored key aspects of Malaysian employment law within the context of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), including compliance requirements, employee entitlements, tax incentives, and cross-border workforce strategies. The topic was especially timely and valuable for decision-makers and HR professionals seeking to navigate the evolving employment and regulatory landscape in this emerging corridor of regional cooperation.
