On 11 July 2026, MICCI Central Branch had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Shenzhen Longgang District for a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening bilateral business and institutional ties. The delegation was led by Mr. Liu Quan, Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Longgang District and Vice President of the Longgang Overseas Friendship Association, together with representatives from the Longgang Overseas Friendship Association, the Investment Promotion Center, and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Offices of Pingdi and Henggang Sub-districts. The delegation was received by Dr. Lim Chong Ling, Chairman of MICCI Central Branch, alongside members of the Branch Executive Committee. The visit was coordinated by Mr. Wayne Shu, Branch Manager of MICCI Central Branch.

During the meeting, MICCI Central Branch presented an overview of its roles, key initiatives, and upcoming programmes, while also sharing insights into Malaysia’s current economic landscape and investment opportunities. The Shenzhen Longgang District delegation introduced the district’s economic strengths through a corporate presentation, highlighting its leading industries, including advanced manufacturing, healthcare, mining machinery, and other high-value sectors. Both parties engaged in constructive discussions on fostering greater collaboration in trade, investment, and business development.

The delegation expressed its interest in working closely with MICCI Central Branch to facilitate business matching (B2B) programmes, investment promotion activities, and government-to-government engagements between Malaysia and Shenzhen’s Longgang District. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and creating more opportunities for businesses from both regions. MICCI Central Branch looks forward to expanding its partnership with Shenzhen Longgang District through future exchanges and collaborative initiatives that will benefit the business communities of both
Malaysia and China.
