On 20 July 2026, the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), led by Mr. Germain Thomas, MICCI General Committee Member, paid a courtesy visit to Ms.Zalina Zainol, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Promotion & Facilitation), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), at MIDA Sentral to discuss closer collaboration in supporting Malaysia’s investment ecosystem.

During the meeting, MIDA shared its focus on attracting quality investments that create long-term value by strengthening local supply chains, developing domestic capabilities, and encouraging greater participation of Malaysian companies within investors’ ecosystems. Ms. Zalina also highlighted the role of the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre (IMFC) in bringing together government agencies to facilitate investments and resolve investors’ challenges through a more coordinated and structured approach.

Recognising the important role of chambers in engaging the business community, MIDA welcomed closer collaboration with MICCI to disseminate investment-related updates, industry success stories, and its monthly e-Newsletter, while facilitating greater industry engagement and business feedback. MICCI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting these efforts through its communication channels and extensive membership network.

The meeting concluded with both organisations reaffirming their commitment to strengthening public-private collaboration, enhancing communication between government and industry, and fostering a more competitive, connected, and investment-friendly business environment.
